Sans doute le plus proche d'Eminem qu'il connaît depuis des années, Proof (dont le père a produit des titres pour Marvin Gaye) a tout d'abord animé des battles de rap avant d'enregistrer un EP avec le groupe de Detroit 5 Ela. En 1995, il sortait le Maxi Searchin. Proof a gagné la compétition du Magazine Source Freestyling en 1999. C'est lui qui a eu l'idée d'appeler le groupe Dirty Dozen. Après le premier opus de D12, Proof a monté son label Iron Fist Records ainsi qu'une ligne de fringues Squo 1800.Proof a collaboré avec Dogmatic pour l'album de Promatic et a joint l'excursion de gestion de la colère d'Eminem.
Il a également enregistré en 2003 un album solo, Searching 4 Jerry Garcia.
